If you can help me "fire this gun" I'll thank you a lot. Sorry if the question is layman but I just started with the rift. I could not modify it so it can work with my ps3 joystick (not sure why it cannot fire althought I can use it to navigate the scenario). I have unity on my Pc, a real good app developing software but angry bots is the game demo I could develop it my self (if I had the license to write to. The other problem was the TriggerOnMouseOrJoystick.js script. It does not apear on the screen also (although I mapped the rigidbody and the player as it is in the example, if I look down I cannot see the player body). The only let down is the gun: I'm not sure how you did it, but althought the machinegun fires (I can hear it), I cannot destroy the bots. So, I tried to modify the angry bots demo myself in order to achieve a similar result. As I do not have a Windows system I could not use your example. I've edited the Tuscany demo so I could roam around the landscape (I edited the stonewall and removed one of the stones and then I edited the collision mesh so I could get out of the house yard). I'm doing some experiments with the rift myself for fun. Has anyone notice that he's a pretty bright lad? I've been playing with "VR" for years and I had no idea how to solve the latency and field-of-view issues until Oculus and Carmack started talking. I just want to close with how much I love Unity and Oculus. Secondarily, it may look like you should be able to shoot around something but sometimes you can't. The level geometry is not made for this type of perspective. The respawn system is totally broken, but this isn't really a problem (see #1)ģ. I just stand on the shoulders of giants and flick the tiny switches.ġ. None of the art in this is mine, and little of the scripting. I got bored of that this morning and made Oculus Bots, which is a repurposing of Unity's Angry Bots demo. Finally yesterday I got a chance to play with the Tuscany demo, then the Sixense Tuscany demo (the one with hands) and then I started dropping oculus player objects into any unity environment I could find. Then I got injured and spent a bunch of time in bed. The day my kit arrived I was ecstatic and I was packing for a four day trip during which I wouldn't be able to use it. I've been waiting for the Oculus since last E3 (and so were we all, I know). I'm Jesse Joudrey, from Jespionage entertainment. This is cross-posted to Reddit, but I think people here might be interested. Bottom Line Up Front: I've Adapted the Unity "Angry Bots" demo to be a FPS using the oculus rift for aiming.ĭownload the demo (Oculus Rift Requried):
